Peggy Ann Goodrum

June 8, 1950 – July 9, 2012

          Peggy Ann Goodrum, 62, of Bryan passed peacefully from this life Monday, July 9, 2012 at her residence in Bryan. Funeral Services will be held at 10AM Friday, July 13 in the St. Joseph Catholic Church with Monsignor John McCaffrey officiating. Burial will follow in the Willowhole Cemetery in Madison County. Visitation will be from 5-8PM Thursday, July 12 with a Rosary to be recited at 7PM in the Chapel of Trevino-Smith Funeral Home.

          Peggy was born June 8, 1950 in Bryan, Texas to Wallace and Virginia (Sadowski) Matelshak. She had a deep love for her children and grandchildren. Peggy was the former owner of the Crossroads Club which was located in Bryan for many years . She loved animals and raised deer, goats, and squirrels, as pets, along with her dogs and cats. Peggy loved to help arrange any and all celebrations for her family. As her grandson Garrett said “Grandma has this house rockin at Christmas time” along with her famous seven layer dip (Grandma Style).

          She is preceded in death by her parents.

          Survivors include her husband, Joe Goodrum; daughter Marie (Gregg) and husband Skipp Taylor, step daughter Billie Joe Goodrum and Will; a step son Jody Goodrum and Brooke; one brother Marion “Sonny” Matelshak; eight grandchildren Kelsey and Keaton Taylor, Garrett Hallmark, Logan Klentz, Jon and Jake Goodrum, Trace Ford and Mandy Cross; one nephew, Sonny Matelshak Jr.; one niece, Loretta Metalshak and a close cousin Renette Preybelski and last but not least her favorite companion her dog Bell.  

          In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Brazos Animal Shelter or Hospice Brazos Valley in remembrance of Peggy A. Goodrum.
