Ernest Pivonka

August 22, 1931 – December 3, 2012

 

          Ernest Pivonka, 81, of Bryan, formerly of Caldwell, passed peacefully from this life Monday, December 3, 2012. Funeral Services are set for 1PM Sunday, December 9 in the Chapel of Trevino-Smith Funeral Home, with Father Ryan Higdon officiating. Burial will follow in the Frenstat Cemetery in Burleson County Texas. Visitation will be from 5-8PM Saturday, December 8 with a rosary to be recited at 6PM in the Chapel of Trevino-Smith Funeral Home.

          Ernest was born August 22, 1931 in Caldwell, Texas to the late Charlie and Liddie (Supak) Pivonka. He was one of the Founding Members of the Brazos Valley Czech Heritage Society. Ernest liked to go fishing in his spare time, and loved to take family trips to state parks in the good old VW Bus. For many years he owned and operated World Motors Ltd. in Bryan. He was known to be one of the best VW and import mechanics in the Brazos Valley.

          He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; a sister-in-law and a granddaughter.

          Ernest leaves to cherish his memories his beloved wife of 51 ½ years, Clarice Pivonka; three sons and their spouses, Gregory Lynn and Laura Pivonka, Jeffery Glenn and Gay Pivonka, James Pivonka and special friend Mary Hodges; a brother, Charles Pivonka; two sisters-in- law Lillian Pivonka and Henri McLeod(Mert); six grandchildren, Terra and Lindsey Leinard, Bobbi Johnston, Hailie Bagley, and Dorian and David Barnett; 1 great grandchild, Ty Johnston; two step great grand children; a niece Connie Hall;  a close friend Jeff Barnett; and numerous, other nieces and nephews.
